Journey through the last 25 years.....
So, on completion of MBA and starting that much aspired for corporate career, little was I prepared for the gush of learnings that would come my way almost every day! The real learnings from the real world. Some I relished, the others, I resisted. Hopefully, somewhere along the way it has all helped me evolve as a personJ
I’ve always lived in Mumbai, yet never felt grounded ‘cos of the constant travel my work entailed which brought to the surface a latent passion for travel. I was fortunate to have my passion for travel along with an exploration of multiple culture and people blend soseamlessly with my work area, marketing. The gypsy in me made me change a few jobs and industries while staying to my love for marketing and building brands
My big struggle in life - " work life balance"! Have tried to justify the lack of it to myself and to the world by calling it work life integrationJHowever, I decided to give a serious shot to the “life” aspect by taking a career break to live a different life. Picked up my love for music and started training in Hindustani classical vocals once again after a gap of 25 years! It challenges you, frustrates you, but is very energising and more importantly, very meditative.
Also involved myself in some societal work, working with slum children and the Indian Cancer Society. What gives me immense satisfaction is also this girl child, studying her CA, who I mentor.
Going forward, am looking forward to an even more enriching journey complete in work life balance (yes! I’ve finally got it!!) – includingwork (couldn’t stay away any longerJ), music, travel, societal work. I’m sure that rich cup of coffee in the morning that I’m so addicted toand that precious glass of wine every evening will make every day even more fulfilling and excitingJ
