On the 25th Reunion...
Do i still remember the brightness of the sunshine of the day when I first foot stepped into "Bajaj" or the colours of the blue moonlight playing with the Arabian waters of Marine Drive then?
Do I still remember the "yaks" brinjal subji in the university hostel canteen or the hustling sound of the answer sheets floating across benches during the most 'transparent' end sem tests?
Hardly do I remember the furtive glances I cast across the gals (and Oh!, the boys too!!), I was sitting along, and weighed down by the weight of being amidst these flashy turks, especially as the Neanderthal I was amongst them!
Day on day, small things fill up our lives like outlines of the buildings and contours of the Nature that we inhibit, but life makes us forget them. We tend to age with big events that dot our memories... sociopolitical events, technology advancements, economic turmoils that threathen to alter our networth by few millions or crores, and also a few childhood peaks and extravagance of the youth, marriage (that too, only the face of the hubby, that now we see every day! ), children, wrinkled faces of our parents, and fading memories of those who brightened horizons of our lives and disappeared like comets.
Time extracts the heavy price where material success, designation on the business card, address of the bungalow or apartment, amount of cash deposited through multiple accounts during "Demonetisation" lose shine and leaves behind the scars that you are ought to carry like a decorated soldier on the battleground.
But what definitely endures is how you took the blows of time and gave a few back, how you took risks and played them across, and occasionally harboured the feeling that you grew bigger than life.
Memories of "Bajaj" that I still possess is one such big event in my life and became enduring because of all of you.
Love to all of you, for that.
