I grew up dreaming of traveling the world. Soon after business school, I started at one end, all the way down under in Melbourne, Australia. Then followed four wonderful years in Singapore - wandering across South East Asia, venturing into deep sea diving, and experiencing amazing new flavors that I hadn't known existed.
In 2002, I moved further west, to work in France – for what I thought would be a couple of years – just enough to allow me to learn to speak French effortlessly, discover charming bits of Europe and continue my journeys...next stop was to be New York, New York! As it turned out, I was at a Golf 101 type of corporate event in Paris one day, where I happened to meet a charming young Frenchman. Fifteen years later, my golf handicap remains the same (I haven’t touched golf clubs since!); instead, Xavier and I have 2 beautiful girls, Pia and Uma. We live in Paris and come often to India. I continue to fulfill my wanderlust by traveling on work and pleasure...my family have become my travel mates in exploring all the other places that I had planned to live in. Instead of diving and golf, my battle is now with the steep ski slopes of the Alps every winter – and what a continuing battle it has been! For someone who did not know how to boil water in Bajaj and lived on the *!@! dabba in Savitri Bai Phule, I have evolved into quite the foodie... I enjoy cooking and am lucky to be able to taste and experience all the (vegetarian) flavors the world has to offer during my travels. Life has handed me a great innings so far, and on the golden anniversary of our reunion, I hope I will be able to report that the innings in the coming 25 years were as interesting as the past 25 have been. |
